On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament Building.
On the occasion, actor Anupam Kher rushed to Instagram to congratulate the country's residents.
He shared a video of himself delivering a poem dedicated to the new Parliament building, which he captioned in Hindi, "Samast bharat vaasiyon ko naye, aadhunik aur poorn roop se Bhartiya Sansad Bhavan ki haardik shubh kaamnayein aur badhaai." Sansad Bhavan duniya ke har desh ke liye prajatantra aur loktantra pranali ka ek anutha prateek bane. "Hail to India."
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament edifice to the country and erected the historic symbol 'Sengol' near the Lok Sabha Speaker's chair in the new edifice. The new Parliament building is three times larger than the old one, encompassing 64,500 square kilometres and housing 888 persons. The original parliament building was circular, whereas the present one is triangular. In the original building, the Lok Sabha had 543 seats. In the new Lok Sabha building, 888 individuals can sit together. In the former parliament building, the Rajya Sabha had 250 seats. In addition, the number of Rajya Sabha seats in the new building has risen to 384. The new Lok Sabha hall is themed after the national bird, the peacock. The Rajya Sabha chamber has been designed around the motif of the national flower lotus.
