The Indian Navy congratulated Lieutenant Commander Ujjwal Choudhary of Naval Dockyard Vishakhapatnam on finishing sixth in the 'Ironman Triathlon' in Kazakhstan on Sunday, with a time of 11 hours 04 minutes.

The race involved 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling, and 42.2 kilometers of running. While there were around 400 contestants from around the world, the officer was the fastest Indian athlete to complete the race out of approximately 50 Indians.
The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) organises a series of long-distance triathlon races, including the Ironman World Championship. Lt. Commando Ujjwal Choudhary has also qualified for the World Championships in France.
Meanwhile, Shivangi Sarda has attracted a lot of notice for her prowess as an athlete at the recently conducted Ironman Triathlon in Germany. In 13h 47m, she finished the Ironman World Championship in Hamburg City, Germany, with a 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km cycle, and 42.2 km running. She was named Rajasthan's best basketball player three times in a row and completed the Ironman 70.3 in Chongming, Shanghai, in 2019.
