13 October 2023: At the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the famed Hollywood actor and producer Michael Douglas will receive the prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, made the announcement in a post on X. The well-known actor will attend IFFI 54, an important event in the world of cinema, along with his wife, the illustrious actress and philanthropist Catherine Zeta Jones, and their actor son Dylan Douglas. Shailendra Singh, an Indian film producer who founded Percept Ltd. and the Sunburn music festival and is commemorating 25 years in the Indian film industry, will also be there.

The Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award was created in 1999 at the 30th IFFI and is given to those whose outstanding contributions have greatly improved and elevated the film industry. His critically acclaimed productions, including "Phir Milenge" (2004) and "Kanchivaram" (2008), have garnered widespread recognition and a National Film Award for Best Film (Kanchivaram).
