Akshay Kumar posted a series of videos and photos from the promotion on Instagram.

He wrote the note of thanks, "Everything I've accomplished and where I am in life is due to the unwavering support of my fans. This is my special tribute to them, in recognition of how they have supported me throughout my career."

He went on to say, "We broke the Guinness World Record for Most Selfies in 3 Minutes thanks to the support of my fans. This was very special, and I will remember it for the rest of my life. Ab selfies, hongi selfies. See you all in the theatres on Friday." Khiladi of Bollywood, known for his daring stunts and unique records, is now the Guinness World Record holder for this extraordinary feat with 184 selfie.

Akshay’s successful record attempt took place at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai, where over 240 fans gathered for the chance to break a world record with their idol.

“It was an excited crowd for sure,” said GWR Official Adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar.Akshay took 209 photos during the three minutes, however, some were disqualified due to blurred faces. As per the record’s rules, all selfies must be in focus and sufficiently bright enough so that the person appearing in the picture can be recognised and identified as a unique participant. Despite the 25 discounted selfies, Akshay was easily able to break the record due to his smart strategy. He managed to take 79 more than The Rock did!

James Smith (UK) held the previous record of 168, and previous holders include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, singer Donnie Wahlberg (both USA), and ex-footballer Alan Shearer (UK).

Previously, on January 22, 2018, Akshay broke the world record of 168 self-portrait photographs (selfies) taken in three minutes by James Smith (USA) aboard the Carnival Dream cruise ship. Previously, global icon and Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson held this record in 2015, with 105 self-portrait photographs (selfies) in three minutes at the San Andreas premiere in London. "I am ecstatic at breaking this unique World Record and sharing this moment with my fans!" Akshay said of breaking the record. Everything I've accomplished thus far, and where I am now in my life, is due to the unwavering love and support of my fans all over the world. This was my way of paying them a special tribute, of acknowledging how they have supported me and my work throughout my career."

The film is an official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film 'Driving License,' starring Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film is directed by Raj Mehta and stars Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharuccha, and Diana Penty in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 24, 2023.
