The date for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards has been confirmed for Sunday, January 7, 2024, kicking off the entertainment industry’s highly anticipated awards season.
Produced by dick clark productions (dcp), the Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide and it is one of the few awards ceremonies to honor recipients for both motion picture and television achievements.
The announcement follows the recent success of the 2023 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards held last month, which delivered a slate of deserving winners to a global television and streaming audience with more than 24.2 billion impressions on social media platforms worldwide.
Proceeds from the broadcast provide funding for the Golden Globe's philanthropy and charitable giving programs. In 2022, more than $4.5 million dollars was awarded to 93 programs and organizations. These donations support a diverse range of nonprofit organizations that help underserved communities and programs, as well as universities and colleges. In addition, the grants support film restoration projects both in the United States and overseas, as well as journalism programs that provide aid and assistance to journalists across the globe.
